You are warmly invited to the 5th RUTV Documentary Film Fest on Wednesday 20th of October at the Roxbury Cinema. Last year’s festival packed all three cinemas of the Roxbury and this year’s is sure to do the same.
The festival showcases the final productions of the final year television students in the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University.
They promise a diverse programme of long form documentaries and a selection of individual 5 minute documentaries. The evening allows you to sit back and enjoy insightful, provocative and entertaining productions filmed in locations around South Africa and some close to home.
The 5th Documentary Film festival will include a very intimate insight into the stories of issue of ex-offenders and re-integration in rural Kwazulu Natal, a disturbing new wave of an addictive toxic drug issue in Durban, and an extraordinary insight into the lives of Somali refugees in the Eastern Cape. The short individual films explore a range of characters and issues that will be remembered.
