This documentary takes a look at three soldiers, Private Mothibeli, Rifleman Julies and Captain Sampson, from 6 South African Infantry Battalion in Grahamstown. 6 SAI Battalion is a military base where soldiers are trained to be deployed on peace-keeping missions to Darfur, DRC and Burundi. This documentary explores why it is they do what they do, what it means for them to be soldiers and what they fear. Life at the army base and the relationships amongst the soldiers are revealed not through their statements but through visuals which give the viewers a great insight into the lives of soldiers. It makes the soldiers stand out as individuals and not just as one in a multitude.
