Lindile Mpanza: Show Me The Money (5min)

Why is it that most people stare uncomfortably at the sight of a young person with a noticeably older partner? Is it because of the assumption that a huge age gap indicates some sort of social ill? Show Me The Money explores the meanings of the terms “gold-digger’s” and “sugar daddies” through 4 young people (Zuki, Kate, Tracy and Tony) and their controversial relationships. The piece looks at the dynamics involved in such relationships and whether the people involved are in it for love or for the love of money. The piece ultimately allows the viewer to make up their own mind.
